Very much enjoyed the Suncoast Singers Concert I attended today at Minnreg Hall. What a talented group of singers and an amazing director and accompanist. I couldn't stop tapping my feet and loved the selection of songs. You all poured your heart and soul into the concert and it was so obvious that the singers, musicians, and director were having fun (and so was the audience). Looking forward to the spring concert.

Comment from: John Bowers (Minnreg and Honeywell Retiree Partners Representitive).

Concert Success (Honeywell Minnreg Hall).

The Suncoast Singers' November 9th, 2013 concert was a resounding success. The Singers presented a rousing medley of patrioric favorites, including "America the Beautiful", "God Bless the USA", and the closing number "God Bless America", with everyone in the audience standing and singing along with the Singers. I

n addition, there were many American favorites, such as "Michael, Row the Boat Ashore", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", and Louis Armstrong's hit "What a Wonderful World".

One of the major highlights was the Armed Forces Salute, in which each of the five Services' songs were presented, and every Veteran in the audience was asked to stand and be recognized as their song played. After each song, there was thunderous applause for each of these Veterans who have sacrificed so much for their country.

Again, the Minregs provided complimentary refreshments along with snacks available for purchase. The Honeywell Retirees Club conducted a Raffle which was a major highlight and a significant fundraiser for the HRC.

Please plan ahead for the next Suncoast Singers concert coming this Spring, which will be "Beautiful Broadway".

From one of our "fans"

Dear Marilyn and Don:

This was a great concert ... music was joyful and uplifting and so obviously appealed to all ages ... the "Red Hat" ladies at our table even stopped their chatting to listen and tapped their hands and sometimes their feet.

Marilyn, you wear many hats and wear them all so well.

Warmest Wishes

Regarding the show at Heritage...

Robert Knabel has been directing the community chorus, the Suncoast Singers in Seminole, for the past seven years. They have been entertaining audiences in Pinellas County for the past 31 years. They have been in Carnegie Hall twice with Robert for performances of the Mozart Requiem and the Vaughn Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem.

Suncoast Singers will be presenting a concert in the sanctuary of Heritage church on Sunday, March 27th, at 3PM. The show they'll present is "When We Were Young" and will feature music of the 40's, 50's, 60's, and the 70's. Included will be songs made famous by the Beatles, Bobby Darin, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams, and many more. This concert is a real stroll down memory lane and will definitely be enjoyed by all! They are accompanied by Dede Natale on piano and feature drums, with bass guitar, as well. A love offering will be taken and the proceeds will be given to Heritage as a contribution to the building fund.

Plan now to attend and bring a friend for this special afternoon of good ol'-fashioned music! The Suncoast Singers are especially known for the unique blend of their 40 voices and their articulation and diction. All who hear them agree it is a truly magnificent sound they produce! We hope to see you there on March 27th at 3PM!

Hi Mr. K,

I was so happy to track you down via the internet. It has been many years since I was your student, but the lessons that I learned from you have helped me so much in my life. Thank-you for taking the time to teach more than music to those of us that were listening. I am very proud of your accomplishments and impressed to see how God has blessed your music programs. Maybe if you have time you could e-mail me and we could catch up.

With Sincerest Gratitude,

This message is for Maestro Knable, with whom I worked at Carnegie Hall, several years ago. It is for the Suncoast Singers and members of his East Lake High School Chorus. His other email address continues to return this email to me.

On March 22, 2009 (Sunday evening) I am conducting Vaughan Williams' DONA

NOBIS PACEM at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, NYC. This project is

produced by Distinguished Concerts International NY. I hold this

organization in high regard because they are concerned, first and foremost,

with an exemplary musical experience for the participating ensembles and the

guest conductors. Their producing standards are very high and they only

invite choruses based upon my personal recommendation. They also do not

lock in organizations to receive a variety of nonmusical activities that may

make the cost prohibitive for school and community ensembles.

DONA NOBIS PACEM, of course, would be performed with symphonic chorus,

professional soloists and orchestra. I have compiled the list of those

elite high school, collegiate, and community choruses with whom I have

worked or of whose caliber I am sure, and invitations will be issued to

those ensembles only. I am interested in the quality of the musical

experience for all of us. If this is an opportunity you and your school

district would value (and I seriously hope that you, and they, will), please

let me know at your earliest convenience so that a formal invitation can be

issued, on my behalf, by Distinguished Concerts International NY.

Many choruses do perform in Carnegie Hall every year. (I have been

privileged to conduct some of my participating ensembles in previous

projects at that great hall.) But I purposely chose Avery Fisher Hall, home

of the New York Philharmonic, because Lincoln Center is also the home of

Julliard, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera, the New York City

Ballet and Alice Tully Hall (a premiere recital hall which is currently

undergoing renovation.) My thinking is: that those programs whom I invite

would be able to generate a lot of interest in the hall that is most

frequently seen on Public Television in a variety of "Live from Lincoln

Center" concerts. It is a hall that is rarely available for projects

such as mine, which enhances this project's value for all who are

involved.

If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to email or call me

(847.722.2332). If you would like to receive an official invitation for

this project, don't hesitate to let me know and Distinguished Concerts will

make sure that you receive it immediately. I hope that you will give this

project strong consideration as I would love to work with you, and the students from your school, again!

Warm regards,

Judith Willoughby

Hi everyone...I don't know who is still with Mr. Knabel that went to Austria, Germany, and Switzerland in 1996, but I was one of those members. I had no idea you were still a group...I think that is great!! Are you taking on more members? I would love to sing again!! Do you have any contact information?

Good comments Kathy. We'll certainly keep that in mind for next year. We're always looking for a way to get the word out about when and where we are performing. We have two more shows left this year. May 10th at 8:00 at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center and May 17th at 5:00 at Faith Presbyterian Church in Seminole. Hope to see you there!

Hi. I saw your commercial last month for the "Andrew Lloyd Webber" performance and was interested in attending in Seminole. However, the commercial gave only a date and location, and did not say anything about the performance regarding who performed it, what time, and cost, ticket info, etc. Because I could not find further information (even online), I didn't attend, although I would have liked to. I saw the commercial again today (May 2), and the only information given was your website at the bottom, which I didn't notice there the first few times I saw the commercial. If you would show a little more info prominently on the commercial, maybe more people will attend, and remember that some people do not have a computer where they can look up your website.
